Artworth, a solo exhibition by Julian Joseph Kyle that sought out to redefine the value of art—not by its price, but by its power to connect, reclaim, and inspire. Rooted in Julian Joseph Kyle’s deeply personal exploration of Black identity, cultural memory, and creative autonomy, this exhibition challenges the systems that have historically defined and confined art.
During the show, guests were prompted to fill out cards to “bid” on featured artworks for the chance to win one for free. For the following week, Julian Joseph Kyle will be reaching out to each bidder, sparking a conversation about the artworks to decide which patron will win the piece. A thought-provoking approach to art ownership and accessibility to fine art.
The evening was hosted by collector and art enthusiast Lena Waithe, with music spun by DJ Boston Chery.
